When using a serial Converter with 9 pins in and 4-wire terminal out the following should be observed.
1) For short distances (i.e. less than 10 ft.)
A small gauge Wire is fine (20 gauge and up)
2) For longer distances (i.e. more than 10-20Ft.)
A larger gauge wire should be used (18 gauge and bellow)
**Stranded Wire is always a better choice when involving curved paths for wires**
*!*!*!*CAT 5, CAT 5e, CAT 4 wire should NEVER be used to connect to a data converter if you have a TIBBO® unit used to communicate over a network this is fine however in all other situations it is not expectable to use this type of wire*!*!*!*!
